I’ve always said that any day outdoors is better than any day indoors, and I’m pretty sure my dog, Nala, feels the same way. When I got my pup, I wanted to find some fun off leash areas that we could enjoy and although I found lots of hiking information, there was little off-leash information. Nala and I travel quite a bit, so I set a goal to visit the dog parks of South Eastern Ontario and put all the information together in one spot, and share it with you.
The parks in this post are located between Kingston and Cornwall, relatively close to Lake Ontario or the St. Lawrence River.
As Nala and I continue to travel around the province, we are constantly updating and adding more locations to the blog. For more information about the off-leash dog parks of Durham Region, located between Pickering and Newcastle, please click here. We are also working on the parks of Central Ontario, which should be available soon!

Summary of the Dog Park!
11. Cornwall Off Leash Dog Park
Although Nala and I have not made it to Cornwall yet, I wanted to add some information about the only dog park in Cornwall. It is located behind the Fence Depot store on Pitt Street.
Their Facebook page lists it as a fully fenced 2 acre private dog park. Membership is required, and can be purchased as a yearly, monthly or even a day pass.
12. Charleston Lake Provincial Park Off Leash Dog Beach
In 2022 we purchased an Ontario Provincial Park parking pass with the goal to see how many provincial parks we could visit in the year. Although we managed to visit 23 different parks, we didn’t get a chance to make it to Charleston Lake, but it is on the 2023 ‘to do’ list.
Like many of the Ontario Provincial Parks, Charleston Lake, which is located north east of Gananoque, has a leash free dog beach where dogs and their owners can enjoy the beach and play in the water.
