Bracebridge
Day 3 was a very quiet day for the dogs and us. We decided to head to Bracebridge to visit their off leash dog park to start our day.
Annie William Park
Along the Muskoka River you will find Annie Williams Memorial Park. This park dog friendly park is a 10-acre park in Bracebridge, Ontario., The park has a playground, picnic areas, a small (not dog friendly) sandy beach, and a dock. This park has wonderful walking paths to walk with your dog off leash. It also boasts open fields in case you wanted to play fetch. We decided to play catch the treat after our stroll.

After playing and treats for the dogs we made our way into town to visit all of the shops. We find that Bracebridge is not nearly as fun to shop in. A lot of the stores are not dog friendly and some where closed on the weekend. Weird right?
I did find a store that had a topographic of Skeleton Lake – a must have. Skeleton Lake is between Huntsville and Bracebridge and is where I grew up.

We find Huntsville is far more dog friendly. Check out this blog to learn more about the dog friendly shopping in Huntsville.
Muskoka Brewery
Shopping made us thirsty so we check out the Town’s local brewery. It was very welcoming to us humans and our dogs. We got beer and the dogs got water bowls.

This brewery isn’t a small town brewery. In fact, if you are a beer drinker, you have likely seen it at the beer store. It’s reputation has grown over the past years and is a proud landmark of Muskoka. You have a choice of beer, spirits or non-alcoholic beverages. It is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your beer and the staff are attentive. This we know first hand.
While we were enjoying our beer and taking the above pictures a very large dog came out of nowhere. Maze and Nyx are both very gentle submission girls. This dog was not gentle or calm in any manner. Both of our dogs reacted very badly. Our solution was to put them on the picnic table as there was no owner in sight.
The staff came out so fast to help us. The dog had gotten lose down the road and had come for a visit. The dog was secured and we took a deep breath and put the dogs back on the ground. It was very eventful for us! The staff were so apologetic and gave us a round on the house. It is these situations when you know you are in an excellent establishment.
What a wonderful quiet day with our dogs, Maze and Nyx. It was a lot of sight seeing and exploring which made for a perfect day.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of our trip!
