A Day in Collingwood & Blue Mountain with Spectacular Music, Food, Fun & Friends!

Blue Mountain, Collingwood

We have friends that own a cottage in the Collingwood, Ontario area and invited us up for the day to explore Collingwood with them. We had such a great time! And yes, we brought both dogs! Our friends know we love our dogs dearly and were fantastic about making sure that our day included them.

We arrived at their place which was a short walk from a public beach at the end of their road. We were spoiled as no one else was there so we were able to play with the dogs in the water off leash.

The kids and our friends had floaties and seemed like they floated miles out while we played fetch with the dogs. The shallowness seems to go on forever – what a great place for pets and kids to frolic!

After lunch we went on a “River Walk”. I was thinking, “this will be a nice walk along a river with the pups”. Was I wrong! We walked in the river! This area seems to be only known to the locals and was such a beautiful spot and again, no one was around so we were able to let the dogs run and swim in the river. Our friends daughter had a tube and followed us down the river.

After falling a few times and now soaking wet and doing a quick change (with a special beach change towel, yes, they exist!) by the car, we headed to the pier to visit the Port of Collingwood. The girls jumped off the pier but I would not let the pups jump, it would be very difficult to get them back on the pier.

The Millennium Park had several food trucks and at the end were couches and a big basket full of dog toys and a water bowl for the dogs. It was all very inviting to sit and have some food and hang out with your dog.

After getting dry again we headed off to the Blue Mountain Village to see The Trews concert. We originally wanted to do the entire Guitar Trail but dogs were not allowed on the trail at all so we had to settle with music in the village instead.

The Village was very inviting to the dogs. We had no trouble taking them into shops that did not have food and even the public around us wanted to pet the dogs and say hello.

Such a wonderful day exploring Collingwood and Blue Mountain and enjoying time with friends.
