On day number two of playing hooky with my hubby, we headed to Toronto to see what dog friendly things we could find!
Well! I was very pleasantly surprised on how dog friendly Toronto is! We explored:
Distillery District
As it was a weekday and not during Christmas or the summer holidays, we had a wonderful time in the quiet of the Distillery District.

Maze & Nyx at the Distillery District, Toronto The Love sign is covered in locks
In the picture above Maze & Nyx are in front of the work “LOVE” that is covered in tons of locks. In 2014, the City of Toronto installed this sign allowing anyone to plant a love lock knowing that it won’t be cut off. This nine foot sign is covered in locks each put on there by a couple representing their love.
Of course, there is also lots of shopping in the district and so many treasures to find. If you are from Toronto and have a dog (and are a dog mom!) you probably follow Toronto Dog Moms. They recently launched a wonderful program that allows businesses to put stickers on their front doors showing that they welcome dogs.

As it happens, our tummies start to rumble (once again!) and we landed at El Catrin Destileria for Mexican food. It was delicious and they were so welcoming to the dogs.

And being in Toronto we had to visit our favorite dog brewery, Black Lab Brewery and also a new one called Left Field Brewery.
Black Lab Brewery

We have been to the Black Brewery before- click here to visit that blog where we happened upon a dog birthday party and were invited to join in. It was so much fun!
This visit we had the honour of meeting another black lab from the Black Lab Brewery gang, Ms. Mac. Ms. Mac is four years old and is super sweet. Crazy Nyx had fun saying hello to her.
As always, the beer was excellent (we always bring some home) and the company even better.
Left Field Brewery
Next up we visited Left Field Brewery. Another amazing brewery that is dog friendly located at 36 Wagstaff Drive, Toronto. Located off an alleyway, the place is quaint and welcoming! The fun baseball memorabilia adds to the atmosphere. One of the walls is glass so that we could see the distillery.

Walking around Toronto I was so surprised at how many dogs were hanging around with their owners, walking, on patios, and in parks. They were everywhere and I was delighted!

For our last stop before we took the trek home, we wanted to take the dogs to a dog park. Toronto has lots but one caught my attention, a leash free dog park at the waterfront and it was phenomenal.
Cherry Beach Dog Park
I found a whole new side to Toronto that I didn’t ever know existed. We arrived at Cherry Beach located on the north shore of the Outer Harbour at the foot of Cherry Street. This beach is located on the Martin Goodman Trail. This trail is 56 km of multi-use path along the waterfront in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It covers the entire lake shore. This is ample trails to walk with your dog…but…
There is also a leash-free dog park……AND
…..A leash free beach!!!
I couldn’t find any information how big this park is but it is really big. There is a massive forested off leash area and it is right on the water so this edge of the leash free area also has an extensive leash free beach.
Only pictures can tell this story.

Here is a video of the park….
We all had such a wonderful day in Toronto and can’t wait to go back and explore more of it!
The furry babies were tired and slept hard on the way home.
