Welcome to the brand new Cordova Valley Off Leash Dog Park, located in Oshawa. Nala and I had the privilege to visit this brand new park a few days before the grand opening ceremony on April 25, 2023.
This fully fenced park has a double gate corral style entrance. There is a concrete pad, which extends from the parking lot into the corral style entrances. Definitely a welcome feature in a high traffic area to help keep the area dry in the wet weather. There are two sections to this 0.29 hectare park, a smaller section for small dogs and puppies and a larger section for all dogs. Both areas have their own separate entrance. I love that there is a safe area for puppies to play and wish this was available when Nala was a puppy! The park has free parking and a trash bin at the entrance.
We entered the park and Nala was very excited to see two new friends to play with. The front half of the larger park is wood chips with two metal picnic tables with shade structures. In addition, the smaller area is completely wood chip with it’s own table and shade structure.
The back half of this dog park is a grass field with some trees on the outside of the fence. This includes some mature trees along the back and some newly planted trees around the perimeter.
I’m excited to see how this brand new park develops in the future. There is an active Facebook group that invites pups to come and play on a regular basis. We’ll have to drop by Oshawa for another visit and update as the off leash park changes through the seasons.
