There is nothing better than “Farm Fresh”. Farm fresh food has a different, fresher taste and everything is always so much brighter and vibrant, including home grown sunflowers! We love visiting all of our farm fresh neighbors and you will be happy to know that most of them are dog friendly. We decided to visit Bragg Farms and enjoy their beautiful sunflowers. This farm opens their doors to our furry friends from 9 am to 10 am daily.
Bragg Farm is located at 3048 Concession Road 3, Bowmanville, ON L1C5S3. The fee to enter the fields is $10 person and each of the dogs were $5.

The History of the Farm
The history of the farm is full of family and warmth as this farm is on its 8th generation!!!
The family arrived in Canada in 1843. Jon Bragg and Mary Smale sailed from their home country of England with eight children and settled in Darlington, Ontario on their own parcel of land. This was the start of this farms legacy.
Each year the farm evolves with each generation. The farm’s owners are Mark and Brittany Bragg. I had the pleasure of meeting Brittany who, with her beautiful smile, was greeting everyone at the front with a warm welcome.
There isn’t a need to reserve tickets as you can buy them from the front entrance area when you arrive. When we arrived we were instantly distracted by the chicken coop beside the parking lot and all of ducks at the pond. Maze & Nyx were fascinated.

Beyond the chickens is the front gate where you can buy your tickets and they have a fun pop up shop as well!

The cookies were melt in your mouth and we had to buy some beautiful sunflowers for the house.

As we were leaving, people were arriving for the morning yoga session by the pond – it looked so peaceful! Follow their Facebook page to see upcoming events! In the fall time, you can visit the farm to pick your own potatoes and sweet potatoes.

The Retail Store
Also on the farm is a retail farm that sells seed, eggs, jams, preserves. We couldn’t resist their jam and we also bought a big bag of bird seed.

We had a wonderful time in the sunflower fields taking lots of pictures of the family and the dogs. There is a different stations for photo opportunities as you will see and there is two spots for you to see the flower fields from up higher. Here are some of our favorite pictures! We hope you are able to visit this wonderful dog friendly farm too!
