We love having new experiences, we love watching our kids do something new for the first time, and watching the dogs experience something new is also fun times!
This past weekend we went to visit our family who own Legacy Holsteins farm. It is part of the Gay Lea family. Sally and Geoff run the farm and are part owners. The place is amazing and so modern. Sally and Geoff have three kids who are all amazing at helping with the farm and the daily chores. They also have Colonel who is the resident farm dog. Here is a pic of Colonel with Nyx. Colonel just wanted to play ball and Nyx just wanted to play with Colonel.

Maze has been there before so this was an old experience for her but Nyx had not and she was exhausted at the end of the day from all the new animals and new smells.
The cows are a million times bigger than Nyx and she was not sure what to make of them. After we calmed her down and stopped her from barking, she watched for about half an hour before she got the nerve to venture in.

Here is a video of her first hello!
There are different sections to the farm, this is the part where they milk the cows. There are other parts, including the baby cows who are days old right beside this area. They are so cute.

We also visited with the “teenagers”. Nyx introduced herself to them as well. Here is the video.
Lastly, we watched a baby being born. It was so gross and so amazing all at once. Some do not like the gross part of it so below is a picture of just the feet out (front feet first!) and then the picture of the baby and mama.

And of course as in all my adventures, I learned something. All the girl cows are named. Sally told me how they are named and thought you guys would be as intrigued as I was, so here is a video of Sally explaining it.
We had such a great visit with the family and always learning something new.
