Have you ever wanted to let your dog try a lure course? The Nutram Howl-O-Ween event at The Big Apple had a free lure course set up in their dog park for your pup to try out. Dressed in a Halloween costume, my dog Nala, raced around and absolutely loved it!
The Big Apple, located right off Highway 401 in Colborne, is only a short 45 minute drive from the GTA. On October 29 and 30, 2022 they were host to the Nutram dog fest event. We arrived and walked straight towards the blue tents where they offered a bunch of free food samples, a free collapsible water dish and grabbed some photos of Nala in her Hallowe’en costume.
There was only one group ahead of us for the lure course, which was perfect as Nala got more and more excited watching the lure zip around the course. She couldn’t wait to get in there and chase it!
The staff was amazing! They had the lure all set up, we unleashed Nala and they started zipping it around. Nala took off like a bolt of lightning, chasing it all around the course. They would speed it up and slow it down to keep Nala fully engaged and wanting to chase it more. I was so impressed with their enthusiasm!!
We timed it perfectly, as soon as Nala finished ,they set up for their 11 am dog entertainment and agility show. Wow, what a great show! They had about 4 dogs that ran the agility course, demonstrated training and a frisbee toss off. This gives me some great ideas of fun stuff to try with my pup.
