I have found the best place to hang out! Saturday we visited Holiday Market in the Barn in Pontypool. It had popped up on my Facebook feed and it was advertised as a dog friendly event so, of course, we had to go! What a fantastic place. It had a market, a bar (yes! Mike had a beer and I had a spiked hot chocolate as we shopped), they had live music and they had a bon fire. The best part, 100 acres of trails for us to use!!!
I had heard of Pontypool but had never visited the area and it wasn’t very far for us. The place the market was being held at was at the Hollowbrook Highlands farm. This venue is a perfect wedding location and they must do a ton of them. If I had known about it, I would have been tempted for sure to have our wedding there! On the property there is a goat barn, and what I think are highland cows. The dogs are now starting to get use to other animals with all of our adventures so they were more curious then anything.
The bar is in the barn with part of the vendor market (the rest was outside). We found a silo that had a rotating table and some chairs in there. It was lovely and quiet. We stopped in there and hid from all of the people for a few minutes.
There were tons of amazing vendors in the barn.
Outside was the bon fire and more vendors and live music. We were allowed to take our alcoholic drinks outside as well. They also had a little cabin for kids to do crafts. It was very family and fur baby friendly event!
After we warmed up, shopped and finished our drinks we explored the amazing property! Behind the market is the place where you would have a wedding ceremony.
From there there are trails. Unfortunately, we didn’t plan to spend hours there but I could have! We ventured a bit down the trails but will definitely will be back with an afternoon to explore the place some more! There will be an update for sure! I couldn’t have asked for a nicer afternoon with Mike, Maze and Nyx.
